A luxurious and cozy option immediately after a shower or a comfortable top layer for lazy weekends relaxing in lounge wear, bathrobes for women come in a variety of colors and fabrics. The range showcased at the Stylight site includes alluring floral print woven kimonos with see-through lace back, soft cashmere long cardi-coats with shawl collar and tie waist in speckled red and gray, and elegant women's bathrobes in vintage green and bronze floral print silk.
The ‘Good Morning’ look: Bathrobes for women
Everyone knows that the best bathrobes come from hotels. The fluffy, somewhat oversized, white robes aren’t just ideally suited for a spa day, they are also excellent for breakfast in bed. As such the feel good factor of women’s bathrobes works at home too, and can even be made to look stunning:
Long morning-robes
They are slim cut, usually worn like a wrap-around coat and are really rather snug. The belt sits at waist height and holds the simple robe together. Jersey or thin cotton are comfortably light and don’t droop down off your shoulders. Some designs are adorned with a decorative border that weaves its way along the edge of the robe, or with real lapels.
- How to style it: There’s not much room to fit other layers under this bathrobe for women. Thin night shirts, negligées or underwear are the most you can realistically get away with. Retro mules with slight heels and a cute hair band boost the style factor of your outfit, especially when combined with a little mascara and painted nails. In this outfit you can also feel confident when answering the door to the postman.
Short kimonos
Kimonos are cut shorter, just like classic bathrobes for women, and finish approximately half way down the thigh. The sleeves of this variation are flared, and for a little extra dazzle, the hems are sometimes embellished with a little fringe. These short robes usually have a pretty flower or nature-themed pattern with multi-colored designs. Kimonos don’t always have to be accompanied by a belt and can just as well be worn open. With that in mind, you could opt for pajamas or thicker night shirts underneath.
- How to style it: Just like when you chose the Asian kimono, you can also keep with the Asian theme for what you wear underneath. For younger ladies cotton shirts with Hello Kitty and similar logos are great, for everyone else, silk night shirts or jersey pajamas can be matched perfectly with little flowers or motifs like clouds or butterflies.
If you want to slip straight into your bathrobe after showering, you should go for a terry toweling variant. This material is particularly absorbent and lightweight. Once you’ve washed it in the washing machine, just throw it in the dryer!
