Embracing The Duality Of Beachwear

At Stylight, it doesn’t take much to make us happy—chocolate, binge-watching our favorite shows, and investing in garments you can wear to the beach and someplace else. Think of it as a way to get the most out of your closet without having to constantly buy more clothes (though we’re down with that, too).

Wearing your beach and swimwear to other places is an opportunity to tap into your style creativity. For example, you can wear your beachwear to:

The Office

Caftans and Hawaiian shirts at work? Why not? It’s all about the layering, and besides, it will give your mood the boost it needs when Monday rolls around.

Men: A floral-patterned shirt finds new life when you wear it under a crew neck sweater. The colorful collar peeking out adds a fun and unexpected twist.

Women: Make a long caftan office-ready by wearing it over leggings and cinching a braided belt around your waist.

A Music Festival

Music festivals already come with an “anything goes” dress-code, and that certainly includes bikinis, linen tops, board shorts and crochet cover-ups.

Men: Pair a linen shirt with a lightweight vest, printed shorts and cool accessories like leather bracelets and a Panama hat.

Women: Layer a crochet cover-up over a black mini dress. Top it off with a fedora and retro shades.

The Rooftop Party

For days when it’s just too hot to even wear clothes, beachwear offers the perfect, breathable solution. Beat the heat at a rooftop gathering by mixing your swimwear with everyday pieces.

Men: Go with track shorts (that double as swim trunks) with a blue and white striped tee and leather sandals.

Women: Use a bikini top in place of a bra under a flowing, aqua maxi dress with wedge sandals.

Unless you’re lucky enough to live in California, beach season only comes once a year. But that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the clothes whenever you want.

Use your beachwear to make a fashion statement.
