Converse All Stars

Iconic footwear brand Converse is regularly seen gracing the feet of celebrities such as Jessica Alba, Ellen Page, Justin Long and Jake Gyllenhaal. In the Stylight online store you will find a range of Converse All Stars in every colour imaginable to suit your mood and personality.

History

The Converse company began in the early 1900s in Massachusetts, when Marquis Mills Converse started making shoes to appeal to basketball players. The All Star was born in 1917, named after a basketball player called Chuck Taylor, who joined the Converse All Stars Team. Converse dominated the American trainers market from 1920 to 1970 and was bought out by Nike in 2003, although the iconic style of their shoe has not changed since its creation.

Colourful

Brightly coloured Converse All Stars are the perfect alternative to your neutral Camel Active trainers, providing an antidote to the winter blues. Available in a range of bright, pastel and neutral shades for both men and women, they are great for creating a sporty, preppy look with your favourite jeans and t-shirt. Swap your Fabi brogues for a pair of Converse All Stars boots teamed with jeans, t-shirt and a casual blazer for a relaxed first date style.

Pastels and Patterns

Pretty pastel and patterned hi-tops are the ultimate in feminine footwear with a sporty edge. From baby blue and pastel pink styles to deep purple and red gingham designs, whatever your tastes you will find a pair of Converse All Stars that are perfect for you. Camper ankle boots are all very well for the winter, but as the weather grows warmer, brighten up your look with a pair of fuchsia pink beauties, perfect with a denim skirt and cute cropped jumper.

All-Time Classics: Converse All Stars

If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it. That’s been the motto when it comes to the Converse All Star. First making its debut in 1917, it has since undergone very few changes while continuing to be one of the most popular shoes ever.

No closet is complete without them. This is why everyone, from the super stylish to the sporty sneakerheads, loves them so:

They’re still the same ol’ classics.

It wasn’t until 1920 when basketball player Chuck Taylor made only a few minor tweaks to the All Stars. Other than that, they’re the same shoe that your grandparents remember—and probably even owned.

You can wear them almost anywhere.

Originally sold as a basketball shoe, you can sport them on and off the court. Today, they’re more likely to be seen on the feet of fashionistas and anyone else looking to lace up in a casual sneaker, wherever they are.

Their design is simple.

You can go high-cut, you can go low-cut, but because of their simplicity, you can never go wrong. Constructed mostly out of cotton canvas, Converse All Stars fit to your feet without making them look big or bulky.

There’s a pair for everyone.

Stars, stripes, polka dots—oh my. The Converse collection includes just about every print, pattern and color you could ever imagine. No matter your personal style, you can find your perfect pair.

With a legacy that’s about 100 years old, Converse All Stars will continue to be a footwear favorite for years to come.
