Leather jackets

The debate as to whether you are a denim or a leather jacket person has lasted many years, and itll be sure to continue for many more, but here on Stylight we simply have to ask: cant you be both? With a fair selection of both garments in our own wardrobes, it seem preposterous that some people would suggest you may only stick with one. But, if we had to pick, itd appear that leather jackets would win just!

When to wear leather jackets?

There are many times weve tried to get away with wearing leather jackets in the depths of winter, however it wouldnt come recommended. The optimum time for wearing leather is during spring and autumn when the weathers fair but crisp, and layering is your true friend. Wear over a cami top for warmth on a chilly summer day, or layer underneath and oversized double breasted coat when things really do start to cool down, and youll find that you get a lot of use out of your leather jacket.

Im not a biker

And neither are we! Although the rockers of the 1960s were famed for their tough biker jackets, we still love to wear ours without the motorcycle accessory. Instead we team ours with skater skirts of skinny jeans, and find that the rebellious touch is just perfect.

How to look girly with a leather jacket

Leather jackets are typically masculine (were looking at you James Dean), but its possible to still add a feminine flair to your look. Muubaa are perfect at creating flattering cuts in unconventional colours, so try one of their pastel jackets for an unconventional leather look. Regardless of whether you consider yourself to be a denim or a leather person, there will definitely be several events that call for a leather jacket in your life. Be sure to check out which ones we have stocked on Stylight, and youll soon be finding yourself siding with one team in particular!

How To Soften Up Your Tough Leather Jacket

What is the only thing tougher than nails? A leather jacket. It’s the epitome of all things bad, but in a good way. No piece of clothing is cooler, but since it is associated with motorcyclists everywhere, the word “cute” seldom comes to mind.

Want to take the edge off of the hardness of a leather jacket? You don’t have to be a biker babe to pull one of these bad boys off. Here’s how to make it less rocker and more chic:

Look At The Bright Side

Stray from the status quo in a leather jacket in a new hue. Black will always be the color you’ll see on and off the road, but nothing will stop traffic like a jacket in a vivacious yellow or an alarming red shade.

Tulle It Together

If leather had an opposite, it would be tulle. But you know what they say: Opposites attract. A tulle dress or skirt is airy and dainty, unlike the heaviness of leather, but when pairing them together your look becomes instantly ladylike.

Put The Petal To The Medal

Make that edgy jacket bloom with a floral print and take a blossoming fresh spin on the classic. Whether they’re roses, sunflowers or daisies, pluck your favorite pattern as a juxtaposition to the hardcore outerwear.

Rebel With Romance

The only thing better than being in love is looking like it. Deep reds and pinks are the official colors of romance, while flowy hemlines and softer shapes are the silhouettes. Combine any of those with a leather jacket for an ensemble even the toughest person would fall head over stiletto heels for.

Don’t be intimidated by the attitude of a leather jacket. It’s easy to sweeten it up in an instant—no sugar added.
