Get in Touch with Your Inner Bad Girl in a Red Leather Jacket

Every now and then, a particular kind of famous woman comes along: one who decides that enough is enough and throws the rulebook out of the window. From Elizabeth Taylor to Angelina Jolie, these women are known for marching to the beat of their own drum. Society has called them bad girls, but we refer to them as powerful starlets who would not have achieved success if they’d stuck to the status quo.

We all have a little bad girl in us. What better way to exemplify these dynamic women than by wearing a red leather jacket?

Elizabeth Taylor

With eight marriages, a larger-than-life persona and eyes so blue they were said to be violet, Ms. Taylor was the quintessential, Old-Hollywood bad girl. She lived life in the spotlight and the public loved it—the glamour, the drama and a certain love affair with actor Richard Burton. She’s said to have been the first actress to make $1 million when she starred in “Cleopatra.” Be bold, daring and uncompromising like Taylor in a red, quilted leather jacket and drop earrings with glittering gems.

Pam Grier

No one played the bad-to-the-bone heroine quite like Pam Grier. She captivated the nation in several action movies in the ‘70s, taking down drug dealers and gangsters with her slick moves and take-charge attitude—and not to mention, those cheekbones. Grier is credited with being a trailblazer for action movies starring African-American women. Like our heroine, take no prisoners wearing a biker jacket, white T-shirt, heeled ankle boots and gold hoop earrings.

Angelina Jolie

The word “angel” may be in her name, but Angelina Jolie’s rise to fame at the turn of the century says otherwise— including several hard-core movie rolls where she blurred the line between hero and femme fatale. Nowadays Jolie is still bad, but in a good way, traveling the world as a humanitarian while raising a diverse family. You can still channel old-school Angelina with a burgundy-hued, asymmetrical jacket, leather pants and nude lipstick.

Here’s to being good at being bad. Be a trailblazer in your own right by wearing a red leather jacket.
