Get your denim fix from Lee

In the UK, Lee is synonymous with denim. Good quality and long lasting, a Lee online shop is the first place to look on the internet to find your next pair of jeans to live in – because denim is the most versatile of fabrics. Whether you want your jeans for work or play (or a little bit of both), we’ll find you the most perfect pair of skinny jeans or straight leg, whatever you fancy.

Where did Lee jeans start?

Founded in 1889 by Henry David Lee who sought to create dungarees and jackets for the workers of Kansas, the company soon expanded when they introduced the Union-All work jumpsuit, and then the zipper fly prompted a massive jump in sales. With it soon becoming the main producer of work wear in the United States, it’s hardly surprising that today you can find many Lee products in vintage and thrift stores, still wearable and in amazing condition.

The Canadian suit – yes or no?

For those of you who might not be aware, a completely denim outfit is colloquially known as the Canadian suit. Easy to wear (and doesn’t need ironing – hooray!), you just pair a denim shirt with some bootcut jeans and you can walk out the door. However double denim is considered to be a fashion faux pas among many. It all depends on how comfortable you feel when wearing it, as confidence can make anything look good.

If not more denim, what to wear with Lee jeans?

Jeans are the easiest to style, so once you’ve picked your fit, pair you Lee jeans with a baseball long sleeve t-shirt or a patterned blouse with wide-rimmed spectacles for a cute geeky look. It’s undeniable that jeans are a wardrobe staple, so a Lee online shop is the perfect place to look when refreshing your wardrobe. Be sure to keep an eye out for sales, as it doesn’t hurt to get the perfect pair for that little bit less!

Denim DIY: Three Ways to Spruce Up Your Lee Jeans

No matter what the hottest denim trend of the season is, we’re always bound to buy a pair. But everyone has their own unique sense of style, so why not give your Lee jeans a personality of their own, too? Create your own custom pair of Lee jeans with these three easy, fun, DIY ideas.

Cut It

Use your boyfriend jeans to create the perfect pair of cutoffs. Turn your jeans inside out, then measure out three inches or longer from your inseam depending on what length you want. Use chalk for a foolproof guideline to cut along. Once you’re happy with the length, you can fray the bottoms with pinking shears for an effortless look. And lastly, toss your new shorts in the wash to get that vintage feel.

Distress It

To give your skinny jeans an edgier look, transform them into a pair of ripped jeans. Distress your denim by laying your jeans out flat on a table, and use a pencil to mark the places you want to tear. Use your scissors to cut along the lines and make sure to keep in mind the ultimate shape and width of holes you’re going for. Finally, fray the edges of bottom of your jeans with dull scissors to give them a perfectly unfinished feel.

Bleach It

Bleached jeans are literally at the tip of your fingertip. For this project, you will need a pair of Lees, a bucket, household bleach, two rubber bands, a large bowl, water, and a measuring cup. Make sure to wear a pair of rubber glove to protect your hands. Ball your jeans up and use the rubber bands and then place them in the bucket. Mix one part bleach with four parts water and pour the mixture over your jeans. Check the progress after about an hour to see the color, and take them out once you’re satisfied. Rinse them thoroughly before tossing them into your washer.

With these three easy techniques you can completely transform your Lees any way you want. The possibilities are endless.

Crank some tunes, grab a pair of scissors and give your Lee denim a one-of-a-kind spin.
