DIY Tips & Tricks For Whitening Your White Long Sleeve T-Shirt

A white long sleeve T-shirt is a blank canvas for endless outfit opportunities. Unfortunately, it is also a blank canvas for stains too. From body sweat to spilled wine, white clothes are infamous for their knack for getting dirty quickly. But before you, yet again, get into the age-old cycle of wear, spill, wash and toss, we’ve got a few tips for getting out stains and keeping your white’s white.

Pre-Treat With Lemon Juice

Let your white long sleeve t-shirt soak overnight in a bath of hot water and a half cup of lemon juice. Lemon is a natural bleaching agent and unlike bleach, it’s easy on fabric.

Hydrogen Peroxide

For tough sweat stains around the armpits and collar, mix ½ cup hydrogen peroxide and ½ cup baking soda with a 1 cup of water and massage it into the fabric.

Aspirin

Adding a single Aspirin to the washer with your load of whites will keep them from getting dingy—which is just one of Aspirins infinite, and unexpected uses.

Dish Washer Detergent

Skip your usual Tide and opt for a dishwasher detergent instead. Unlike regular detergent, dishwashing liquid using brighteners that will reinvigorate your whites.

White Wine Vinegar

Another kitchen cupboard trick to keep your whites white is to add a ½ cup of white wine vinegar into the washing machine with your clothes.
