5 ways to make your tired eyes appear brighter
We’ve all been victimized by under-eye circles. Those late, late nights and long days on the computer do our eyes no good. Not to mention, we always have our phones somewhere close to our vision, which puts a constant, heavy strain on our eyes. But, there’s no worse feeling than waking up in the morning to realize that your eyes look super tired and some bags are starting to form under there. If this has happened to you, here are a few essential tricks for you to keep the back of your mind for those dreaded mornings.
- Eye patches: Eye patches do a great job at reducing any swelling under the eyes. Some of them even claim to be brightening, so they’re basically soaked in some sort of brightening serum to make the skin under the eyes appear brighter. Pop these in the fridge and keep them there. You never know when you’ll wake up in need of some of their glory. If you don’t have those on hand, a good brightening eye serum might also do the trick.
2. Eye drops: Tired eyes start from the inside of your eyeballs, then the results are reflected on the skin under your eyes. Try applying some eye drops to make your eyes appear brighter and more awake. Often if you’re eyes are very tired, they won’t be fully open, which will make them look invisible and exhausted.
3. Peach corrector or concealer: The world of makeup has given us many solutions to try and conteract the effects of fatigue on our under eyes. You’ll read tons of articles about why you should use orange concealer to help mask your under eyes. But, if you want a more natural look, try using a peach concealer as it won’t be too harsh and obvious.
4. Illuminating powder: This powder will give your face light and a bit of glow. Naturally, if you apply this to the undereye area, it will make it look brighter and more awake. Not to mention, illuminating products make the skin appear more youthful and we’re always down for that.
5. Get more sleep: DUH?! This should be a no brainer. Before packing on the makeup and the skincare products, go back to the problem: lack of sleep! Try to limit your screen time and increase your hours of sleep every night. This should make a huge difference in the appearance of your eyes and under-eyes.
