No, it’s not that they’re brunettes; it’s that they’ve all recently rocked the RnB bob that was sported by pretty much every RnB artist at some point during the Nineties. From Missy Elliott to Mary J. Blige, the boofy, curled-under RnB bob was the haircut to have. And with such a distinctive look, it’s no wonder today’s music stars are bringing it back.

Rihanna premiered the ‘do during her 2015 ‘BBHMM’ phase, and this year Gomez and Hadid turned out their own versions at the Met Gala. Much like chain mail and bandanas, this throwback hairstyle is one of those brilliant Nineties trends we’re digging hardcore.
