Wearing bobby pins is the biggest new trend for your hair
At the AFAR Gala held in Cannes in May this year, Kristen Stewart took to the red carpet and schooled us on how to work short hair, typically harder to style and accessorise, to it’s fullest fashion potential. We’ve always thought they were supposed to be worn in a colour matching your hair shade in order to hide the pins, but we’re clearly light years behind Kristen who has flipped the purpose of the bobby pin and instead went for silver pins, using as many as possible to create an embellished, bold hair look. Now we know what we can do with all our stray bobby pins.
The style was created by Kristen’s hair stylist Bridget Brager, who must have got through multiple packs of bobby pins to create the final look. To copy, leave a retro curl of hair at the front, gently twisting the remaining hair toward the centre of the back of the head and leaving the longest hair at the bottom free. Most of the hairpins are weaved together to form crosses, that keep the hair and style locked in place for longer. Pair with bright lips and a strong, under eye liner to complete the look.
It’s not the first time that Kristen has chosen to adorn her hair with bobby pins: the actress flaunted a similar look in 2016 for the premiere of her movie Equals.
