5 Types Of Shoes You Should Toss Immediately
In a not-so-subtle Sex and the City reference, we’re the mirrors you can’t avoid. We’re the motherly dose of reality that’s not always the funnest to acknowledge. It’s time to do a shoe cull. Grab a glass of vino, get your game face on, and get ready to rip off the band-aid. These are the shoes you should toss immediately.
1. Those shoes you always wear.
You know those crazy well-worn shoes you keep for wearing around the house / doing the gardening / taking out the rubbish/bins? Yeah, them. Throw those shoes out immediately. They’re beyond the grave.
2. Those shoes you never wear.
You know those shoes you’ve only worn once or twice? They can go, too. It’s likely they were stupidly expensive and you’re either a) too scared to wear them out and ruin them, or b) annoyingly just a tad too uncomfortable. Whatever the reason, they’re outta here. If you’ve not worn them in the last six months, away they’ve got to go. Don’t be too proud to admit you made a mistake. Recover your losses by selling them on eBay or some such site. The money you get back could fund a different, actually wearable pair of shoes. Fancy that.
3. Those shoes you’re guilt-keeping.
These shoes you were likely given as a gift but they’re so not your style. But if they’re not getting any wear and are just taking up space in your wardrobe, bu-bye. They’re not to consume more room any longer. If they’ve not seen the light of day for more than six months (hmm, sensing a theme here), then out they go!
4. Those shoes that were a fad.
You’ve worn them a couple of times, they looked cool for brief moment…before everyone else started wearing them. Aside from trend oversaturation, ultimately deep down you know they’re not really “you.” They were some craze six months ago and you’re over it, the world’s over it… See ya later.
5. Those shoes you’ve been meaning to get fixed for months.
Tired old soles, eh? In need of some mending, eh? Still haven’t done it, eh? Don’t waste your time. You’ll never get around to cobbling those beat-up soles or broken heel. If you’ve not done it yet, clearly you’re not that desperate to wear them again or are that devastated by the idea of not wearing them every single day. Get rid of ’em. Designer or not, if you’re still to fix them and they’re taking up space, free up that parking spot immediately and replace them with the beautiful creatures below.
