Which coat suits my figure?
We’ve already explained the benefits of buying your winter coat early, but what style will best suit your figure? From pear shapes to hour glasses, we’ve compiled a handy guide to finding the coat to suit your silhouette the best.
Bigger bust
A classic crombie coat will suit women with a larger cup size thanks to it's straight-up-and-down silhouette. Stay clear of belting at the waist to ensure a more balanced shape.
Wide hips
If you want to conceal big hips then go for an A-line coat which will skim and smooth straight over. Note: this only applies to coats that reach below the hip, any shorter and you will just accentuate large hips more!
Androgynous Figure
A cocoon coat is the perfect choice for skinny, boyish figures. The curved silhouette will add more shape to the hips without looking bulky.
Narrow Waist
Flatter smaller waists with a belted tailored coat. This is perfect to cinch in at the waist and show off your hourglass shape.
Tall women
Embrace your height with a maxi coat! Shorter styles will look too school girl, whereas a calf or ankle length trench coat is effortlessly chic.
Short women
Petite? Then look for a boxy 60s shape with a mini hem line. This will create the illusion of longer legs and compliment your smaller frame.
Pear Shape
A classic trench coat is the one for you. With its shoulder panelling and loosely belted waist, it will add shape to your top half while skimming over the bottom half.
