In the fashion world 2016 was The Year of Gucci, as Alessandro Michele reinvigorated the heritage label with an extra dose of extravagant Italian flair. The Gucci Horsebit loafer, in its original black leather form to its fur-trimmed mule version, became the emblem of 2016, this year’s ultimate cult shoe. On the other end of the spectrum, the humble trainer continued its meteoric rise, with retro styles such as adidas Originals Stan Smith and Vans Old Skool making a comeback, alongside new versions à la the Yeezy 350 or Tubular trainer.
