Where did time go? We blinked and suddenly it’s 2025. Spring has sprung and summer is coming to a close, so there’s no time like now to add some new heels to your collection.

It feels like the Nineties nostalgia is back in full swing, and the excitement from Brat summers past seems to have inspired a joyful revival of heels. From sleek patent stilettos with their chic pointed toes to strappy sandals that add just the right touch, heels are taking centre stage once again.

The 2025 heel trends are something to behold, and they’re ready to hit the town. Preppy loafers and retro sneakers are still going strong, but plenty of newcomers are on the list of the most popular heel trends.

Everything old is new again, and fashion can’t seem to escape the charm of the no-nonsense, minimalist thong sandals—and the heeled silhouettes are even more chic.

Designers like Tibi, Alaïa, Carven, Bottega Veneta, and Sportmax reimagine the faithful silhouette, transforming it into the perfect pairing for capris, loose suiting, and tiered maxi skirts.

Pumps are a staple for women on the go and this year, they’re getting a fantastical makeover.

Sculptural heels and pumps add a touch of personality even to the sleekest of outfits. But don’t fret, crazy shapes don’t equal unwearable shoes: by experimenting with unconventional designs, brands like Tory Burch, Victoria Beckham, and Camper manage to create surprisingly walkable, comfortable heels.

Speaking of sculptural shapes and 90s influences… wedges were hands down the main characters of this year’s Spring/Summer’s runways.

Chloé’s perfectly boho cork wedges opened the floodgates, and Saint Laurent, Gucci, Ferragamo, Bottega Veneta, and Courrèges followed suit.

Even if they’re not strictly speaking heels, Isabel Marant’s nostalgic wedge sneakers deserve a shoutout, if nothing else for their unexpected comeback.

This classic is here to stay! Slingback heels, often in the shape of a Mary Jane or featuring a kitten heel, have populated the runways for the past couple of seasons.

And for good reason: they’re ultra-versatile, comfortable, sleek, and a truly timeless staple.

Slingbacks with a daring twist—a metallic accent, a bejewelled detail, an intricate strap—on the other hand, were a huge hit in the FW25 shows at Miu Miu, Versace, and Saint Laurent.

Animal print has been huge for a couple of years now, and python print is definitely taking the cake this season.

From slingback kitten heels to knee-high boots when the weather gets colder, it seems like snake has taken over leopard print and similar.

A sleek python print pump is an easy and chic way to add a statement piece to your wardrobe if novelty heels aren’t for you.

One brand that has fully integrated snake print into their style lexicon is New York-based label Khaite, where faux python has made its way in both the runways and permanent collection.

It’s like clockwork: every season, a divisive trend from the noughties makes its way back into fashion: first skirts-over-pants, then peplum tops, now peep-toe heels.

Boasting the likes of Addison Rae and Amal Clooney amongst its fans, the pee-toe heel is one of the shoe trends to watch. Modern version of this controversial shoe have graced the runways of Tory Burch, Miu Miu, Prada, Acne Studios, and Khaite.
