The jeans trends you should know in 2024

If we had to pick our favourite item in our wardrobes, it would definitely be jeans. Elevated, casual, sporty, relaxed, or avant-garde: the styling possibilities are endless! And even if some naysayers might call them basic, jeans are great at adapting to the latest fashion trends time after time.

Here are the five jeans styles that will make it big in 2024, and take your denim game to a new level.

It seems like wide-leg silhouettes are one of the trends we will keep seeing in 2024, but this time with a twist: instead of the classic blue jeans, grey tones and low-rise styles are becoming popular amongst insiders and it-girls.

Are we witnessing a revival of the skater look? Maybe, but that doesn’t limit the styling potential of grey denim: pair it with elevated tops, like suit vests and off-the-shoulder jumpers.

We just can’t get enough of baggy jeans. Wide legs, extra length, and lighter washes were ubiquitous during the past Fashion Month, and we’ve been taking notes! These straight-cut jeans, especially if high-waisted, are not only comfortable, but also elongate your legs creating a super flattering silhouette.

Our fave styling trick? Folding the hem up just once creates a neat and harmonious overall look, perfect for ballet flats and otherwise, well, flat shoes.

Love ’em or hate ’em, you can’t deny that barrel-leg jeans are the moment. With the keywords “Oversized Barrel Jeans” amassing over 36 million views on TikTok, it’s fair to say that this polarizing style is set to become one of the biggest trends for 2024.

The preferred fit for barrel jeans is up to you: some prefer a slimmer, mid-to-high-waisted fit with the leg grazing the ankle; others size up for a more relaxed, low-waisted fit with the pant leg covering the ankle. Either way, we think they’re super cool.

The vintage-inspired flares come with a rock’n’roll twist in 2024! In addition to the 70s style and classic blue shade, bootcut jeans this year are worn with a frayed hem, that can be easily DIY’ed by cutting off the hem and letting wear and tear do its thing.  Style your creation with a bomber jacket and high heels for contrast.

Super short shorts are back! Hot pants, with their mid-rise silhouette that sits just above the bottom, will be the trending shorts style for summer 2024 (mark our words!). They look super chic with loafers and socks, and go perfectly with the trending Eclectic Grandpa aesthetic.
