Lady Gaga, you’ve done it again. Somehow, some way you’ve managed to make one of our least favourite musical genres – a genre only rivalled by heavy metal and reggae – country western, cool. In your new album, Joanne, you build your trademark electro elements with layers of heavy guitar, a pounding drum beat, and achingly heartfelt lyrics sung through a smooth, southern drawl. Dammit, Lady Gaga, why.
Why must you make us fall in love with tacky denim cut-offs again? Why must you make us pine for those fringe suede ankle boots we threw out post early 00s boho mania? Why must you make us add ‘A-YO’ to our lexicon? You’re giving us a million reasons…to go cowboy crazy.
