Meghan Markle’s clever shoe trick you’ll want to copy

The Duchess of Sussex has been keeping this shoe trick a secret up until now. But spotted through various photos of Meghan Markle attending events in heels, we’ve done a little detective work and now understand how she stays on her feet for so long in heels and manages to look comfortable.

If you haven’t yet guessed it: Meghan Markle always wears shoes that are too big – at least one size up. And we reckon she probably did it on the wedding day, too, in Givenchy pumps – though the wedding dress successfully hid the secret from the paparazzi.

The photos are clear, and experts have finally managed to understand the reason for this choice.

Fashion editor Harriet Davey told The Sun: “Celebs often go a size up, or even two, in the shoe department when they’re at an event or on the red carpet, and it’s for one reason we can all relate to – to avoid blisters. When celebs like Meghan are wearing heels for a long period of time, their feet can often swell up.”

But won’t they slip off as you walk? Davey suggested stuffing the toe with tissue or cotton. This can be taken out if you feel you need a little extra room. Genius! We love this idea, Meghan.
