What On Earth Are Tapered Jeans?
‘I thought they were for dudes,’ you’ll say as we explain that tapered jeans are totes for gals, too. Uh-huh, tapered jeans are the new It denim trend. But what even are they? The ol’ taperoonies are the borrowed-from-the-boys trousers that are not quite a skinny jean, not yet a mom or boyfriend jean. They’re kind of the cool jean version of a peg leg trouser, in that they’re slightly wider around the booty/upper thigh, but then ~*surprise, surprise*~ taper as you get to the legs.
Tapered jeans are narrow at the ankle, making them muy tuckable, but have the added benefit of a roomier butt region so you’re not spending the day in compression agony. We’ll be wearing ours Canadian tuxedo style, with these snazzy patch denim pieces.
