ICYMI: IKEA’s Collaborating With The Coolest Designers Around
On 8 June, Swedish lifestyle brand IKEA revealed at its Democratic Design Days seminar in Älmhult, Sweden, that it will be collaborating with fellow design vanguards over the coming months. The furniture giant released several teaser videos on social media leading up to the event, before revealing it would be joining forces with clothing label Off-White’s founder and creative director, Virgil Abloh; other furniture brands, Tom Dixon, HAY, and Piet Hein Eek; everyone’s favourite cult perfume company, Byredo; costume designer Bea Åkerlund; and streetwear label STAMPD.
Needless to say we’re beyond excited by all of this. No word yet from IKEA on the specific date of release – or releases! Who can ever predict with these crazy, creative geniuses – but you can bet the minute it’s available we’ll be there, FRAKTA bags in tow.
