Why Jacob Elordi is our new style icon

It’s been four years since HBO’s Euphoria aired, and finally actor Jacob Elordi is being recognised as the style icon he is. And to that we say: it’s about time!

Elordi does seem to be a natural at this fashion thing: no matter the event, his style always comes off as effortless and personal. So, it’s hardly surprising that many men—and women—are starting to take inspo from him.

But what defines his style? We took a closer look at six of Elordi’s best looks and found the best bits to add to your wardrobe.

The charismatic The Kissing Booth actor is a pro at channeling his personal style even off the red carpet.

When off-duty, he relies on comfortable and practical staples with an evergreen appeal. Here, the slightly baggy, 90s-inspired jeans are the focal point of the outfit. An oversized polo shirt, a trendy bucket hat, and the universally popular Converse high-tops perfectly round off this edgy yet classic look.

With this outfit, Jacob Elordi proves that he understands how to strike a fashionable balance between casual and formal, and how to use that balance to create the right amount of “tension”.

At first glance, the look may seem fairly simple, but the actor skilfully elevates high-quality basics—the suede worker jacket, fitted white t-shirt, and tailored trousers—with trendy pieces—the ubiquitous Adidas sneakers and a red handkerchief.

Elordi isn’t one to shy away from incorporating less “traditionally masculine” elements in his outfits. Here, he attends the Bottega Veneta FW23 show wearing rectangular sunglasses, a sporty nylon jacket and trousers, and a Bottega Veneta Padded Cassette bag. The lollipop in his hand is the cherry on top of this ultra-cool look.

During his interview with Jimmy Fallon in January 2022, Elordi sported the perfect preppy look: he paired a navy and white varsity jacket with Prince of Wales trousers, long white socks, and black leather loafers. We just love the ironic flare of the white socks!

If you’ve read this far, you have probably noticed that Jacob Elordi loves a collared jacket!

A stylish jacket (worker, nylon, varsity, suede…) will do wonders for elevating even the simplest outfit: here, Elordi attends the Burberry A/W 2023 Womenswear Collection Presentation wearing a white t-shirt, a nylon crossbody bag, black tailored slacks, and black derbies,  but the black leather jacket with white contrast stitching is the real star.

Say what you will, but this Man About Town photoshoot by Isabella Elordi (yes, talent does run in the family) has always been iconic!
