In rain, snow and sunshine: why newsboy caps are always cool companions

Newsboy caps are a hit due to their uncomplicated, casual style and the small visor, which protects your eyes from blizzards, as well as the hot sun. The name is reminiscent of the Victorian workman’s alternative to the flat cap. The upper part is spacious enough to accommodate even very thick hair.  Stylight presents cool caps for “character” heads and provides styling tips for each season.

1. Newsboy Caps for Spring

The soft leather designs are perfect for the transitional season. They keep your head comfortably warm when the weather is miserable, but also don’t make the wearer sweat on a sunny day.

  •  Nicely paired: newsboy caps are especially attractive when paired with jackets or coats made of identical materials. Loosely tied XXL-scarfs also highlight the relaxed style.

2. Newsboy Caps for Summer

The cotton designs represent a light summery look. Thanks to the light-weight material they are very comfortable to wear and protect your head from the sun and heat.

  •  Nicely paired: newsboy caps worn with light-weight sleeveless blouses or cotton shirts, jeans shorts, suspenders and brogues, or simple sandals create a great preppy look, which is appreciated at college, as well as in an office setting.

3. Newsboy Caps for Fall

Designs made from polyester protect you from rain, and felt caps keep your head comfortably warm.

  •  Nicely paired: felt is especially attractive when combined with leather. The newsboy caps are a great accessory worn with cool leather jackets or coats. The polyester design makes a statement and stands out when combined with simple, monochrome light-weight cotton between season jackets.

4. Newsboy Caps for Winter

Wool designs warm your head during a blizzard and even the most frigid temperatures.

  •  Nicely paired: wool caps in a classic ribbing design, cable knit or classic knitting patterns are optimally worn with cozy, warm winter coats. The wool newsboy caps with their practical functionality are also an ideal accessory for winter sports activities and make every winter outfit stand out.

The tweed newsboy cap was primarily worn by young working-class men, such as baker’s apprentices and newspaper boys in the 19th century, which is where it got its name from. Since then, the classic newsboy cap evolved as a fashion accessory and has been modernized throughout the course of time. It is now available in a variety of designs and fashionable new models.
