The Story
Trent Kitsch, the founder and mastermind behind the Saxx brand, developed the idea for the company on a fishing expedition in Alaska. After spending days in a cold wetsuit, he decided there must be better designed underwear which would cater to every man’s shape. Upon his return, he told the bank he needed a student loan, and proceeded to invest $18,000 of it into his fledgling business.
The Brand Today
An MBA student at the University of Western Ontario, Kitsch is also an athlete and played in the minor leagues upon graduation. Kitsch decided to test the underwear out on some of his baseball buddies, which resulted in a member of the Colorado Rockies hitting a World Series home run in a pair of his briefs. Today, Saxx makes underwear for Major League Baseball teams like the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Product
Kitsch’s diverse life experiences have helped him understand the importance of well-fitted men’s underwear. The main focus of the underwear is to prevent contact between your dude parts and your inner thighs. Each garment is made with patented parallel mesh panels which create a hammock-like contour pouch with no internal seam, allowing for roominess and well as a natural resting position.
