Elegant shoes: Hot on your feet with a cool bag
What do a white grand piano, a silvery gray Coupé and a gold-plated fountain pen have in common? That’s right: Elegance! Elegant shoes convey a sense of style and win everyone over with their high quality. They just have more of a shine than their more casual counterparts. These shoes are made from a higher class of materials and can be much more easily styled with elegant outfits – during the day or at an evening event. Alongside other accessories, bags, in particular, are their allies, because your feet and hands are naturally related. Let’s look a little more closely at this combination:
Clean office bags
If you have varnished shoes, it’s best to get a varnished leather bag as well. Alternatively, you can go for a shiny material, which looks very classy on a black messenger bag. Under no circumstances should the bag and shoes clash in terms of warmth or glossiness. Aluminium briefcases go well with all elegant shoes. It’s better to select plainer versions if you choose a laptop bag. The plastic versions with XL logos are best left at home. In fact, puristic satchels and large envelope clutches work well as business purses.
Classy evening bags
Plain, elegant shoes can either be paired with a plain bag or with something a little riskier. From studs, to applications and all the way to fringes or an unusual shape, anything goes here. The bag just has to correspond with the style of the shoes. If the shoes are in a clean style, graphic bags or Bauhaus style bags will suit it. Romantic styles, however, won’t. Retro will work well and a blur of color is an option with animal patterns or a complimentary color.
Fancy backpacks
Backpacks have developed into a fashionable and practical darling. Urban dwellers swear by them: on the bike to work, on the subway, walking in the park and shopping: Your hands are free and all your bits and pieces are kept safe. Small backpacks go well with elegant shoes. Designs made from leather or higher quality material or in a mixture of the two are very classy for a walk along the boulevard. Elegant loafers or relatively flat pumps are also a good combination.
If you’re wearing elegant shoes, you need elegant shoelaces too. If you need to replace them a few times, make sure to always invest in laces of the same quality as the original. Cheap shoelaces draw attention to themselves in an instant. To add a personal note, however, you can go for laces in different colors, for example red on black shoes.
