Upgrade Your Kicks: Ways to Dress Up Your Casual Sneakers

Sneakers have proven to be the ideal footwear option for both comfort and support for your feet. But what about as a stylish statement for your chic ensembles?

Don’t leave your casual sneakers to be paired with your most relaxed attire. Here are a few ways to dress up your informal sneaks with your more polished ensembles.

Pair it with a Dress

There’s no rule that says dresses must be paired with heels, sandals or flats. It’s time you break from these invisible parameters and style your casual kicks with your favorite frock. Tone down a bright, multi-patterned dress with a basic, white pair of casual sneakers. For neutral styles, opt for either a bright sneaker or one with a fun texture like snakeskin and leopard print to add color to your look.

Complement a Suit

Casual sneakers serve as the perfect complement to suits. While we wouldn’t recommend wearing them during meetings with executives or for an interview, kicks can be a more practical alternative to tight dress shoes—especially when it comes to lengthy commutes. Lace up a gray pair with an all-black suit so there isn’t a stark contrast. A white low-cut pair to go with a navy suit and a crisp collared shirt will still leave you looking just as polished as you would in a pair of brogues.

Style it with a Skirt

No matter how high or low you decide to go with the hemline of your skirt, casual sneakers are always a suitable footwear option to style with it. Pair a leather high-top sneaker with a mini skirt and a long-sleeve blouse for an alluring ensemble. Or, for a more classic style, couple a collared shirt and midi-length pleated skirt with a pale pair of low-top kicks.

Forgo putting limits on your chill kicks. Give them the freedom they deserve and take them from casual to formal.

Don’t settle for casual; dress up your kicks.
